University of Strathclyde: Eligibility

To be eligible for a Faculty of Science Undergraduate International Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a new, fee-paying international student with an offer of admission for either first year, or second year entry, to an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Science for the 2025/2026 academic year.
  • Have secured excellent grades to date in their academic studies.
  • Be self-funded. Students who are full scholarship holders, for instance, from an embassy or government office, will not be eligible.

Scholarships will be given on a rolling basis. Awards can be given early in the application period, and thus applying early for admission is recommended.

At the same time, the Strathclyde Business School is providing its first tranche of scholarships to fund full-time students entering one of its programmes in September 2025. To be considered, applicants need to be considered international for course fee purposes. The amount of these scholarship awards will be £6000 to £8000 depending on subject area and course fee.

All students having a programme offer will be considered automatically. Thus, no independent scholarship application is needed by the students.

Scholarship can be availed for specific courses such as accounting & finance, Economics, entrepreneurship, human resource management, marketing, business, hospitality & tourism, management, and management science. Applicants should be self-funded (ie. not in receipt of any funding via any other scholarship, employer sponsorship, etc.) and already have an offer of a place in the programme for the September 2025 intake and also qualify as International with respect to fee status.

This award will be made on a rolling basis from mid-January 2025 and the last date for consideration of awards in the first tranche will be April 30. All applicants will usually be informed of the decision of the Scholarship Committee within a week of receiving the programme offer.
