It is the time when international students eager to study in Japan can apply for the extremely competitive University of Osaka MEXT Scholarship 2026. It is a Fully Funded government scholarship provided by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT). It is an opportunity of a lifetime to study for a bachelor's, master's, or PhD in one of Japan's leading research universities.

The scholarship shall be awarded in any country to which Japan has diplomatic relations. Payment of tuition fee, economy round-trip airfare, monthly living, food, and accommodation allowances, and medical insurance shall be provided in the scholarship. The winners shall be hosted by Osaka University, which was established with the hope of cultivating the spirit of creativity of research as well as Japan's knowledge and innovation hub diversification.

Postgraduate Programs

Shortlisted candidates are usually Osaka University research students for 6-12 months. They then proceed for a master's or Ph.D. after clearing the entrance exam in between.

Eligibility Requirements

Nation: Formally supporting non-Japanese countries of Japan diplomatically.

Age: Typically born after April 2, 1990 (exception only in exceptional cases).

Academic: Equivalent bachelor's (16 years of study, or foreign 3+ year degree).

Language: Willing to learn Japanese and acclimatize.

Health: Should certify good health as to.

Arrival: early Apr 2025 or Sept/Oct 2025 (semester-based).
