Tianjin University, a renowned institution in China, has unveiled its prestigious Tianjin Government Scholarship (TGS) for international students, providing a gateway to academic excellence and cultural exchange.

The scholarship, distinct from the Chinese Government Scholarship program, is tailored for prospective and current students seeking master's or doctoral degrees at Tianjin University.

Similarly, doctoral students receiving the first prize are entitled to a tuition waiver of 38,000 RMB, coupled with a monthly living stipend of 2,000 RMB for ten months and comprehensive medical insurance valued at 800 RMB.

Eligibility criteria for the TGS program are inclusive, welcoming applications from international students worldwide, with the exception of Chinese nationals. Prospective applicants must meet certain health requirements and possess a bachelor's degree for master's programs or a bachelor's degree for doctoral programs, with age limits of 35 years for master's candidates and 40 years for doctoral candidates. Notably, proficiency in English, as assessed by IELTS or TOEFL scores, is waived for native English speakers or individuals who have completed their undergraduate or master's degrees in English-medium institutions, provided they can furnish evidence of English language proficiency from their respective universities.

To apply for the Tianjin Government Scholarship, candidates are required to complete an online application process through the university's official portal, adhering to the stipulated schedule. Key documents, including scanned copies of academic transcripts, passport, Tianjin Government Scholarship Application Form for the 2024 intake, study experience resume, study or research plan, two recommendation letters, acceptance letter (if available), physical examination record for foreigners, scan of non-criminal record or student performance letter, and financial statement, must be submitted as part of the application process.
