NSDC International, a subsidiary of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), has forged an alliance with the Sub-Saharan African Skills and Apprenticeship Stakeholders Network (SASASNET).

The agreement, sealed by NSDC CEO Ved Mani Tiwari and SASASNET secretary general Ousman Sillah, aims to tackle the pressing issue of skill shortages, enhance labor mobility, and drive economic growth throughout the region. Through joint efforts, the two entities intend to establish new sector skill councils (SSCs) and exchange best practices to streamline skill standards and practices.

A pivotal aspect of this partnership is the digital transformation of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) systems across Sub-Saharan Africa. Leveraging digital platforms, NSDC International and SASASNET seek to revolutionize learning, making top-quality educational resources more accessible, facilitating remote assessments and certifications, and nurturing a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among the youth.

NSDC International brings to the table its wealth of experience in digital infrastructure development, exemplified by initiatives such as the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH). By sharing these insights, the organization aims to assist SASASNET in modernizing TVET systems across member countries, ultimately bridging skill gaps and enhancing workforce adaptability.

Ved Mani Tiwari expressed enthusiasm for the agreement, emphasizing its potential to catalyze skill development and education across Sub-Saharan Africa. Likewise, Indris M Bugaje, chairperson of SASASNET, hailed the partnership as an opportunity for Africa to collaborate with India's skilled development sector for mutual advancement.
