CBSE Issues Strict Guidelines Ahead of Class 10 and 12 Exams

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reiterated its commitment to maintaining the integrity of its examination process as it prepares for the upcoming Class 10 and 12 exams set to commence on February 15, 2025. In its latest advisory, CBSE has issued a stern warning to all registered candidates, emphasizing that any breach of the prescribed rules regarding prohibited items at exam centers will lead to severe consequences, including a potential two-year ban from appearing in future CBSE examinations.

The newly issued guidelines specify a comprehensive list of items that are strictly banned from exam halls. The prohibited items include all electronic devices such as mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, and smartwatches, along with textual material, calculators, and any consumable items. However, allowances have been made for students with medical conditions, such as diabetes, who may require specific dietary items. These measures are being enforced to ensure that the exam environment remains free of any distractions or opportunities for malpractice, thereby upholding the standards of fairness and academic integrity.

To assist students in complying with the new rules, CBSE has also outlined a list of items that are permitted inside the examination hall. Among the allowed items are transparent water bottles, analog watches, and stationery items, provided that they are kept in a transparent pouch. The clarity in these instructions aims to reduce any ambiguity and help students prepare adequately for their exam day.

With over 30 lakh candidates registered for the forthcoming examinations, CBSE’s decisive stance is seen as a proactive measure to address potential irregularities before they occur.
