Intending to raise state education to national standards, the Maharashtra government intends to implement the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum in schools starting in 2025–2026. Because the curriculum will be based on Marathi textbooks, kids will be able to access the language. To maintain consistency, the academic year will start on April 1st, just as the CBSE calendar. The government is dedicated to putting laws and policies into place that will improve student accomplishment and offer high-quality education.
Official Declaration and Acceptance
State Education Minister Dada Bhuse told the legislative council, citing the law, that the CBSE curriculum framework for grades three through twelve has been accepted by the School Education Department's steering committee.
Curriculum Transition and Language Accessibility
The current scheme will possess textbooks in Marathi, thus the language should not prove to be an obstacle for the students resettling to the new scheme. This approach demonstrates the government's dedication to open access to education.
Academic Calendar Alignment
In addition to the curriculum reforms, the academic year will begin from April 1, just like the CBSE calendar. This alignment would make the administrative tasks easier while ensuring uniformity in the academic calendar.
Government's Vision for Educational Excellence
Maharashtra will need to become a leader in the education sector again, and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has been emphasizing the CBSE pattern with the necessary changes that suit the state. The government is committed to implementing policies, legislation and to provide quality education and enhancing student achievement.
Maharashtra will implement the CBSE curriculum in schools starting in the 2025–2026 school year.
