Home Ministry on Monday requested states to carry out mock drills on May 7 as tensions with

Pakistan were rising after the Pahalgam terror attack. The announcement came at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding a series of high-level meetings, including with senior defence personnel. Meanwhile, parents and students are in dilemma whether schools will remain open tomorrow or not? Students should understand that till now there is no update of schools declaring holiday or conducting online classes.

Any official instruction in this regard to close schools has not yet been made. But for precautionary reasons, students are instructed to remain in contact with their own school for further orders.

Delhi Deputy commissioners of police (DCPs) have begun conducting meetings with top police officials to boost patrolling in the national capital, reports.

"We have already stepped up day and night patrolling within the city. We have also put paramilitary forces, and police personnel too, on Delhi's borders with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Security has already been tightened inside the city. The DCPs themselves are keeping an eye on the arrangements in their jurisdictions. They are holding meetings with assistant commissioners of police (ACPs) and station house officers (SHOs)," a source informed PTI.
