The once unified call for justice in the wake of the #KolkataHorror case has taken a political twist, leaving many questioning the motives behind recent developments.

The movement, which initially saw doctors from across the country rallying for women's safety and putting pressure on the government, has lost momentum following the case's handover to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Updates on the investigation have been scarce, and the focus has shifted to the political arena.

A student organization named 'Paschimbanga Chattro Samaj' has suddenly emerged, announcing a ‘March to Nabanna’ today with a singular demand: #MamataMustQuit. Shubhankar Halder, a key organizer of the march, claimed that the Chhatra Samaj was non-political but later admitted his affiliation with the RSS, proudly identifying as a member.

The controversy deepened when a video surfaced online showing Halder attempting to silence a female journalist who pointed out that he had a molestation case registered against him. This has sparked outrage, with many questioning whether such figures are committed to fighting for women's rights or merely serving political interests.

In response, the West Bengal Junior Doctors’ Front issued an official statement distancing themselves from the student rally, clarifying that they were not involved in organizing the march and would not participate.

As the situation unfolds, the focus on justice for the #KolkataHorror case has been overshadowed by political manoeuvring, leaving many disillusioned.
