Education Minister Rohit Thakur unveiled an initiative aimed at enhancing the educational landscape of the state

Education Minister Rohit Thakur unveiled an initiative aimed at enhancing the educational landscape of the state. Thakur announced the government's intention to facilitate the establishment of off-campus institutions by foreign universities within the state's jurisdiction.

The announcement followed a resolution introduced by MLA Chaitanya Sharma, advocating for the integration of foreign educational institutions into the state's education framework. Thakur responded comprehensively, outlining the government's proactive approach and strategies to support such initiatives. As a result, MLA Sharma withdrew the resolution, expressing satisfaction with the government's stance.

Minister Thakur detailed various measures to promote collaboration between local and foreign educational entities. These measures include organizing short-term student exchange programs to foster cross-cultural learning experiences and inviting distinguished individuals from renowned foreign universities to engage in academic discussions within the state, as reported by HT.

The government plans to facilitate short-term tours for university faculty members and enhance research cooperation with foreign institutions.

These initiatives are expected to elevate the quality of education and research opportunities available within the state while promoting global perspectives among students and faculty members.

Emphasizing the importance of regulatory oversight, Minister Thakur highlighted the role of the University Grants Commission (UGC) in monitoring collaborations with foreign educational entities. The UGC will ensure the credibility and quality of education provided by foreign institutions operating within the state.
