Rohit Thakur, the Education Minister of Himachal Pradesh, lauded the remarkable progress of the state's education system, attributing it to the outstanding quality of government schools. Speaking at the launch of the Mere Shehar Ke 100 Ratan scholarship program by Crack Academy in Shimla, Thakur highlighted the substantial increase in literacy rates in the state, now standing at over 88 percent, marking a significant ascent from a mere eight percent at the time of Independence.

The initiative by Crack Academy aims to provide scholarships to 100 students per constituency, with a scholarship test scheduled for May 1. Thakur commended the contributions of government school alumni, highlighting their service not only within Himachal Pradesh but also across India and globally.
Furthermore, Thakur pointed out that the robust education framework in the state has contributed to the high ratio of Indian Administrative Officers (IAS) from Himachal Pradesh per capita, establishing Himachal as one of the states with the highest per capita income in the country.
