Physics Wallah (PW), a fast-growing online education platform, has raised $210 million in its Series B funding round. This latest investment boosts the company’s valuation to an impressive $2.8 billion, positioning it among the leading players in the EdTech sector.

The funding round was spearheaded by Hornbill Capital, with strong backing from prominent investors such as Lightspeed Venture Partners, GSV, and WestBridge. The capital infusion is set to propel PW’s expansion plans as it looks to solidify its presence in the competitive education market.

With this new funding, Physics Wallah plans to scale its operations, broaden its reach into the K-12 formal education segment, and enhance its content and publication offerings. The company is also eyeing potential mergers with community-driven education platforms to further strengthen its portfolio and engage more students.

Founded in 2020, Physics Wallah has demonstrated extraordinary growth in a relatively short time. The company currently produces an impressive 9,500 hours of educational content every week and serves students across 18,808 pin codes, covering 98% of India. With 112 YouTube channels in five regional languages, PW has managed to reach over 4.6 crore students, making quality education accessible to millions across the country.

Prateek Maheshwari, Co-founder of Physics Wallah, highlighted the company’s mission-driven approach. His emphasis on affordability and accessibility has played a significant role in PW’s rapid ascent in the Indian EdTech space. Manoj Thakur, Founder of Hornbill Capital, expressed confidence in the investment.
