The Shiksha CoPilot, a component of Project VeLLM by Microsoft Research India, utilizes generative AI to support educators, farmers, and small business owners.
Built on the Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, Shiksha CoPilot integrates with school curricula and learning objectives. It employs Azure Cognitive Services to analyze and organize textbook content, providing a platform for more dynamic and engaging lessons.
With the introduction of Shiksha CoPilot, researchers aim to alleviate the burden on India's overextended government schoolteachers while enhancing the learning experience for students. By leveraging AI technology, the program seeks to make educational processes more efficient and accessible across various sectors.
Satya Nadella taking it to X (formerly Twitter) said, “It was awesome seeing firsthand today this example of how Indian educators are applying this next generation of AI to give time back to teachers and deliver more engaging lesson plans for students.”
