The Allahabad High Court has instructed the Uttar Pradesh government to consider the regularisation of teachers appointed between 1993 and 1996 in various management colleges across the state, according to a PTI report.

Justice Shree Prakash Singh issued this directive after overturning previous decisions made by the Regional Level Committees (RLCs), which had rejected the regularisation of these teachers' services.

Several teachers had contested the RLCs' decisions, which were headed by the regional joint director of education, bringing their grievances before the high court.

Upon reviewing the evidence, the bench criticized the RLCs' decisions, noting they appeared to be made hastily and without proper consideration. The court emphasized that the petitioners had been employed for over two decades and highlighted the necessity for the state to function as a welfare state, ensuring these teachers are given a fair opportunity to be regularized according to legal standards.

The court has mandated that the Regional Level Committees re-evaluate the teachers' cases and issue new orders within three months, taking into account the appropriate legal provisions and ensuring a thorough and fair hearing for the affected teachers.
