Amid an intense and unrelenting heatwave, the territorial administration of Puducherry has decided to postpone the reopening of schools in Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, and Yanam. Originally scheduled to reopen on June 6, all schools will now resume classes on June 12, as reported by PTI.
Director of School Education P Priyadharshini issued an official statement explaining that the decision was made due to the severe heat conditions prevailing in the Union Territory. This directive applies to all government-run schools, privately managed institutions, government-aided schools, and schools following the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) syllabus. The delay aims to safeguard the health and well-being of students and staff amid the harsh weather.
