Renowned NEET faculty Alakh Pandey has expressed deep concern over the recent controversies surrounding the NEET UG 2024 examination. Students have voiced widespread dissatisfaction regarding time lapses, the illogical granting of grace marks, and an ambiguous method of marks normalization.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) issued a clarification circular on June 5, 2024, intended to address these concerns. However, according to a press release from Pandey, the circular only fueled further confusion, failing to clarify the normalization process, transparency, and fairness of the marking system.

A subsequent press conference by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) on June 8, 2024, was also criticized by Pandey as insufficient, merely reiterating limited information without addressing the core issues. He noted that the formation of a high-power committee by the NTA itself, rather than an independent external investigation, raised further doubts about the impartiality of the probe.

In response to these issues, Pandey announced his intention to file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Supreme Court. The PIL aims to compel the NTA to provide detailed information about the examination process and implement necessary corrective measures before the counseling process begins.

Pandey has already sent a detailed legal notice to the NTA outlining these concerns, and he awaits their response. His actions underscore his commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent process for his students and all NEET UG 2024 aspirants.
