The youth wing of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a protest today at Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's residence in New Delhi, demanding the cancellation of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET UG) due to ongoing irregularities.
Led by AAP MLA Sanjeev Jha, the protest highlighted concerns over alleged paper leaks, mismanagement, malpractices, and issues related to grace marks in the medical entrance exam.
In a statement on social media platform X, AAP's youth wing emphasized the importance of protecting the future of the country's youth, condemning any threats to their educational opportunities. They called for a swift and impartial investigation into the NEET UG irregularities, advocating for the supervision of the probe by a retired Supreme Court judge to ensure transparency and accountability.
Currently, the NEET UG has been mired in controversy with multiple legal cases filed in the Supreme Court, as well as in Delhi and Calcutta High Courts. These cases address various concerns surrounding the conduct of the exam, underscoring the widespread impact on students affected by the alleged irregularities.
AAP MLA Sanjeev Jha reiterated the protestors' demands, emphasizing the need for a time-bound investigation to address the grievances of students and ensure justice in the matter. The protest reflects growing public discontent and calls for decisive action to safeguard the integrity of the NEET UG examination process.
The demonstration by AAP's youth wing signifies a proactive stance in addressing educational issues affecting aspiring medical students across the country. As the controversy unfolds, stakeholders await further developments from judicial proceedings and administrative responses to resolve the NEET UG irregularities and restore confidence in the examination system.
