Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has unveiled a new educational offering, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Health Care and Hospital Management, tailored for graduates meeting specified academic criteria.

Targeting aspiring professionals in healthcare, the program aims to equip them with essential managerial skills to serve in diverse roles across public and private healthcare sectors nationwide, including underserved regions.

According to the official press release, the MBA program spans four semesters, comprising 112 credits. The curriculum is structured to include foundational courses in the initial semesters followed by specialized subjects, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of healthcare management. Students will engage in practical learning experiences, including a mandatory project and a three-month internship in healthcare institutions.

The program's design emphasizes practical application and skill development, aligning with industry demands for competent healthcare administrators. IGNOU underscores the significance of this initiative in bolstering the healthcare workforce's capabilities to deliver quality services effectively, particularly in challenging environments.

Fees for the program are structured on a semester basis, with Rs 15,500 for the first and second semesters, Rs 19,500 for the third semester, and Rs 17,500 for the fourth semester. The initiative is part of IGNOU's commitment to fostering accessible education and addressing critical gaps in healthcare management across the country.
