A professor at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Ausa, Latur district of Maharashtra, has been suspended over allegations of student exploitation and harassment.

The issue gained attention when a video went viral on social media, allegedly showing a student removing trash from Professor Manisha Khanapure’s house. This video sparked a wave of complaints from both parents and students.

Responding to these complaints, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) submitted a memorandum to the resident deputy collector last week. The memorandum detailed the allegations, accusing Khanapure of coercing students into performing household chores, such as cleaning toilets, by threatening to give them low marks if they refused.

Principal Indira Ranbhidkar confirmed that Khanapure was suspended on Tuesday, July 2. She stated that a three-member inquiry committee was formed to investigate the claims. Based on the committee's findings, the decision to suspend Khanapure was made.

The principal emphasized that the suspension was necessary after the severe complaints became evident through the viral video and subsequent investigations.
