The Directorate of Education (DOE) has mandated government schools to enrol students who have failed Class 9 twice into the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) for the 2024-25 academic session.

This decision comes in response to alarming statistics: 17,308 students failed Class 9 for the second time during the 2023-24 academic session.
