In a disturbing incident at the Tribal Welfare Girls School in Yellandu, Kothagudem, parents of several girl students took matters into their own hands by assaulting a teacher, A Ramadas, with footwear. The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 30, after allegations surfaced that Ramadas had misbehaved with Class IX students. The enraged parents confronted the teacher at the school, physically attacked him, and subsequently handed him over to the police, as reported by The New Indian Express.

The situation has brought to light a history of misconduct by the accused teacher. Residents and school officials have complained that Ramadas had previously engaged in inappropriate behaviour towards students. According to Telangana Today, the Physics teacher has been accused of touching female students inappropriately, adding to the gravity of the recent allegations.

School warden Padmavathi spoke to the media, disclosing that complaints against Ramadas were not new. In the past, Ramadas had managed to evade severe repercussions by pleading with higher authorities. He cited his responsibility towards his two daughters and promised to reform his behaviour. Consequently, he was released with a warning, and no substantial action was taken against him then. However, despite his assurances, he reverted to his previous misconduct.

In response to the recent incident, school officials have sent a detailed report against Ramadas to higher authorities for further action. The police have booked a case against the teacher and are investigating the matter. This incident underscores the ongoing issues of student safety and the importance of strict enforcement of ethical conduct in educational institutions.
