Protests have intensified across India following the murder-rape of a 31-year-old female doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal.

Despite the Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud's appeal on August 21 for doctors to return to duty during a case hearing, the protests continue to gain momentum, reflecting deep-seated concerns within the medical community.

Amid these developments, the Federation of Resident Doctors' Association (FORDA) has issued a statement offering full legal assistance to any resident doctor facing intimidation, harassment, or legal notices during their peaceful protests. FORDA's commitment emphasizes its dedication to safeguarding resident doctors' professional and personal rights, particularly their right to protest against grave injustices peacefully. The association's stance serves as a crucial support system for medical professionals advocating for justice and safer working conditions.
