Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) has partnered with EdCIL (India) Limited to enhance digital education in Dhanbad through a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The agreement, signed on Thursday at Coal Bhawan, will see the development of smart classrooms and ICT labs in 79 government schools across the district. BCCL CMD Samiran Dutta and Director (Personnel) Murali Krishna Ramaiya attended the signing ceremony.

This initiative involves an investment of Rs 13.54 lakh per school, dedicated to setting up modern classrooms, ICT labs, and essential technical equipment. It forms part of Coal India’s Digital Vidya project, aimed at modernizing educational facilities and integrating advanced technology into learning environments.

BCCL CMD Samiran Dutta underscored the company's dedication to transforming education by providing quality and technologically advanced learning environments.

The project signifies a significant shift from traditional teaching methods used in Dhanbad schools. The introduction of smart classrooms and ICT labs is expected to significantly enhance students' educational experiences by providing access to advanced technical knowledge and digital tools.

The successful rollout of this initiative will mark a significant milestone in making digital education more accessible and engaging for students in government schools. Similar efforts are anticipated to be extended to other regions, aiming to improve educational quality and equity.
