The Joint Director of Education for Prayagraj has issued notices to several district schools for illegally conducting classes beyond their approved levels. These schools, licensed to offer education from classes 1 to 8, were found to be running classes 9 to 12 without the necessary approvals. In response, the schools have been given a week to provide clarification. If they fail to do so, the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) of Prayagraj has been instructed to take legal action against them, including filing an FIR and potentially revoking their recognition for classes 1 to 8.

The investigation, prompted by public concerns, led to inspections by the District Inspector of Schools (II) in Prayagraj. The schools under scrutiny include Jyotiba Rao Phule (JRP) Public School, SS Memorial Public School, Geeta Gyan Mandir (GGM) Convent School, National Convent School, and Gyan Bharti School. All were found to be operating classes 9 to 12 illegally.

Citing Regulation 11-A of the Council, the Joint Director of Education, Dibyakant Shukla, emphasized that schools must obtain recognition for specific classes and subjects before admitting students. Last year, the Uttar Pradesh government, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, launched a campaign against unrecognized schools, imposing fines of up to Rs 1 lakh for operating without proper accreditation. The Directorate of Basic Education has instructed all officers to conduct rigorous inspections and take intense action against non-compliant schools.
