To enhance educational opportunities for students in remote areas, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced the establishment of a boarding school in Spiti. This new facility will offer free lodging, food, and education to students from geographically isolated regions, ensuring they are not deprived of learning due to the challenges posed by the region's terrain.
CM Sukhu highlighted the government’s commitment to promoting educational equity, stating that every child, regardless of location, deserves quality education. "This boarding school will help reduce the dropout rate in Spiti, providing students with a supportive environment for both academic and personal growth," Sukhu said. The school is expected to serve thousands of children from remote villages in the Spiti Valley, offering them enhanced opportunities for learning and development.
As per News18 reports, the Chief Minister announced the construction of a college in Kaza, Spiti’s administrative centre, and the upgrade of existing schools in the region. These measures are part of a broader initiative to improve the educational infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh, particularly in underserved areas like Spiti.
