The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially postponed the CA Final exams scheduled for November 2024 to accommodate the Diwali (Deepavali) festival, which falls on November 1 this year. This decision allows candidates to celebrate without the stress of upcoming examinations.

The revised schedule sets Group I exams for November 3, 5, and 7, while Group II will take place on November 9, 11, and 13. This adjustment shifts the original exam window, which was planned from November 1 to 11. The ICAI shared this update through an official notice, emphasizing its commitment to the well-being and convenience of candidates during this significant festival.

Despite the changes for the CA Final exams, the ICAI has confirmed that there will be no alterations to the schedule for the Chartered Accountants Post Qualification Course exams. This includes assessments like the International Taxation-Assessment Test (INTT-AT) and the Insurance and Risk Management (IRM) Technical Examination, which are also set for November 2024. This decision aims to maintain the integrity and timeline of these professional courses, ensuring candidates stay on track in their careers.

In light of the revised exam dates, the ICAI has reopened the application window for an additional two days, specifically on September 11 and 12. Candidates can submit their applications with a late fee of Rs 600 during this period, providing an opportunity for those who may have missed the initial deadline to participate in the exams.

This decision to reschedule the exams highlights the ICAI's responsiveness to cultural and festive observances, recognizing the importance of work-life balance for its candidates. With Diwali being a major festival celebrated across India, these adjustments reflect an understanding of the diverse needs of students preparing for one of the most critical milestones in their professional journeys.

As candidates prepare for the upcoming examinations, they are encouraged to use this extended time effectively, ensuring they are well-equipped to tackle the challenges ahead. The ICAI remains dedicated to supporting its members and candidates during this transition, reaffirming its role in fostering professional excellence in the accounting field.
