Aimed at empowering underprivileged rural students, a free coaching centre in Damoh has been established to help 100 students from economically weaker sections crack the prestigious Navodaya Vidyalaya entrance exams. This effort bridges the educational gap between rural and urban areas.
Founded by local philanthropists and educators, the coaching centre provides free food, lodging, and study materials to students from Classes 5 to 8. News18 reports that a team of experienced faculty offers specialised coaching in subjects like Mathematics, Science, and Hindi, enabling students to prepare for the challenging exams. Last year, the centre successfully helped 20 students pass the Navodaya exams, and this year, they aim to increase the selection rate to 50%.
The coaching centre has inspired hope among rural families, offering students a unique opportunity for academic success. This initiative is a lifeline for students like 12-year-old Rohan, whose parents are farmers. “We can’t afford private coaching, but this centre has given me a chance to fulfil my dreams,” Rohan shared, expressing gratitude for the free educational support.
The Navodaya Vidyalayas, which provide free education to talented rural students, play a vital role in uplifting students from marginalised communities. With 54 such institutions in Madhya Pradesh, the coaching centre’s initiative is crucial to promoting socio-economic mobility and community development in the region.
