The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has announced an increase in the total vacancies for the Group 4 services recruitment examination, raising the count to 9,491.
This announcement follows the release of results for the Combined Civil Services Examination (CCSE) 2024 for Group 4 services, with candidates now able to access their scorecards through the official TNPSC website.
The Group 4 examination was conducted on June 9, 2024, and was held in a single shift from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The exam consisted of two main sections: Part A, which included a Tamil Eligibility-cum-Scoring Test featuring 100 questions for a total of 150 marks, and Part B, comprising 75 questions from General Studies and 25 questions on Aptitude & Mental Ability, also totaling 150 marks. Candidates were required to score at least 40% (60 marks) in Part A to qualify for evaluation in Part B. A provisional answer key for the examination was released on June 18, providing candidates with preliminary insights into their performance.
In terms of exam structure, the TNPSC Group 4 paper comprises 200 questions and is to be completed within three hours. Candidates must achieve more than the minimum qualifying marks to advance in the selection process. Selection involves a written exam followed by document verification. Once the results are published, the Commission will provide a tentative list of eligible candidates who will be required to upload supporting documents for onscreen verification. Successful candidates will then be called for counseling, where they will be allocated their respective posts and departments based on their rank and category in relation to the available vacancies.
With the increase in vacancies, TNPSC aims to enhance staffing in various government departments, creating more opportunities for aspiring candidates in Tamil Nadu’s public service sector.
