The Ministry of Education has announced the opening of applications for Director positions at various Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) operating under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The available roles are located in Nagpur, Sri City (Chittoor), Kota, Lucknow, Kottayam, Tiruchirappalli, and Guwahati.
Candidates interested in applying can do so online starting November 4, 2024, until December 3, 2024, at 11:59 PM, through the application forms available on education.gov.in and nitcouncil.org.in. Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant field, possess a strong academic record, and have at least seven years of experience as a professor in an accredited institution, although this requirement may be waived for exceptionally qualified candidates. Ideally, candidates should be under 60 years of age.
Required documents include copies of Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees, along with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer. It is crucial to ensure the accuracy of the submitted information, as applications cannot be modified or resubmitted after submission; incomplete applications will be disqualified.
The selection process will be conducted by a Search-cum-Selection Committee, which will consider both submitted applications and nominations from esteemed individuals. The appointment will be on a contractual basis for five years or until the candidate turns 70. The monthly salary for the role is set at Rs 2,10,000, along with a Special Allowance of Rs 11,250 and other eligible allowances as per Institute regulations.
