The College Board has officially opened the registration process for the Advanced Placement (AP) Exam 2025. Students who wish to take the exams, scheduled for May 6-17, 2025, for paper-based tests and May 20-31, 2025, for digital exams, can now register online through the College Board’s website.
The deadline for registration without a late fee is November 15, 2024. After this date, a $10 late fee will apply for registrations submitted until February 28, 2025. Additionally, any registrations after March 1, 2025, will incur a $40 late fee. Students are strongly encouraged to register as soon as possible to avoid these additional charges and secure their exam spots on time.
The AP exams not only help students demonstrate their mastery of college-level material but also offer the chance to earn college credit or advanced placement, which can give them a significant advantage when applying to colleges and universities. More than 4,000 colleges and universities worldwide accept AP credits, making it a highly regarded program for students looking to stand out in the college admissions process.
The AP exams cover a wide range of subjects, from mathematics and science to history and language, allowing students to showcase their strengths and gain recognition for their academic abilities. By earning high scores on AP exams, students can improve their chances of receiving college scholarships and can often bypass introductory college courses, saving both time and money during their higher education journey.
The registration process requires students to coordinate with their school's AP coordinator and ensure that they have signed up for the correct subjects. Students should also be aware that the exam fee is $94 per exam, which must be paid during registration. While the deadlines for late registration are clearly outlined, the College Board emphasises the importance of signing up early to avoid any additional fees.
