The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the admit cards for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) scheduled to take place on January 3, 2025. Registered candidates can now download their admit cards from the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

The admit cards, made available on December 29, 2024, are a mandatory document for entry into the examination hall. To download, candidates must log in using their application number and date of birth. It is essential to verify all details mentioned on the admit card, including name, photograph, examination center, and schedule.

Exam Details and Structure

The UGC NET exam is a national-level test conducted to assess the eligibility of candidates for assistant professorships and junior research fellowships in Indian universities and colleges.

The test comprises two papers:

  • Paper 1: A general aptitude test with 50 multiple-choice questions carrying 100 marks. The duration of this paper is one hour.
  • Paper 2: A subject-specific test containing 100 multiple-choice questions, valued at 200 marks, conducted over two hours.

Both papers will be held consecutively in a single session. Paper 1 focuses on teaching and research aptitude, while Paper 2 assesses the candidate’s knowledge of the chosen subject.

Key Instructions for Candidates

Candidates must carefully review their admit cards for any discrepancies. In case of errors, they are advised to contact the NTA help desk immediately for resolution. The help desk can be reached at 011-40759000 or via email at ugcnet@nta.ac.in.

On the exam day, candidates should carry the following:
