To offer opportunities for gifted students to excel, the Tamil Nadu government has initiated a holistic program to identify and develop gifted students in the state.

The government, as stated by Udhayanidhi Stalin, is dedicated to searching for thousands of methods to assist students in displaying their talents and skills. To that end, the government has started the Tamil Nadu Talent Search Exam (TN TSE), which is an exam aimed at selecting exceptionally gifted students from government schools. The TN TSE test is available for Class 11 students in government schools of Tamil Nadu.

For the purpose of eligibility, students should have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in Class 10 board examinations. The examination will be conducted in two papers, one each for mathematics and science and social science. These best 1000 performers in exams will be granted a four-year scholarship of Rs. 10,000 each month until their graduation. The scholarship scheme is aimed at government school students who are brilliant and want to proceed with higher studies without worrying about money.

Besides the TN TSE test, the Tamil Nadu government has also set up specialized academies to nurture talented students. The academies provide students with an opportunity to develop their talents and skills in sports, music, and art. The scheme is a significant step towards providing opportunities for talented students to develop their skills and positively contribute to society. The government of Tamil Nadu expects the scheme to create a culture of support through which the students will be motivated towards excellence, creativity, and innovation.
