Amidst a backdrop of exam controversies and logistical challenges, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has officially announced the results for the ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) examinations of 2024.
Candidates can access their results through the council's official websites – cisce.org and results.cisce.org – using their unique ID, index number, and captcha code provided on the login page.
The pass rates for this year's ICSE and ISC exams stand impressively high, with 99.47% for Class 10 and 98.19% for Class 12, as confirmed by the council. Interestingly, female candidates have achieved a higher pass percentage in both classes, reflecting a consistent trend observed in recent years.
In a departure from tradition aimed at fostering a healthier academic environment, CISCE has opted to discontinue the practice of announcing individual toppers this year. This decision seeks to mitigate the undue pressure and unhealthy competition often associated with ranking systems, prioritizing the overall well-being of students.
The examination journey for ICSE and ISC students this year was not without its share of challenges. The scheduled completion date for exams, initially set for April 3, was extended to April 4 due to the rescheduling of two papers. The ISC Chemistry paper, originally slated for February 26, was postponed to March 21 due to unforeseen circumstances. Similarly, the Class 12 Psychology examination experienced a delay, with the paper ultimately being held on April 4 instead of the initial date of March 27, following reports of a lost question paper packet from one exam center.
In a move aimed at ensuring fairness and transparency, CISCE has allowed students the opportunity to apply for re-checking and re-evaluation of their marks subsequent to the declaration of results.
To access their results, students are advised to visit either cisce.org or results.cisce.org, enter their unique ID, index number, and captcha code, and log in to view their board exam results. Additionally, results will be accessible via the DigiLocker app and website, providing candidates with multiple avenues to retrieve their outcomes.
The CISCE's handling of this year's examinations underscores the council's commitment to upholding academic standards amidst unforeseen circumstances. While faced with challenges, the council's decision to prioritize student well-being through its policy shifts reflects a progressive approach aimed at fostering a more supportive and equitable educational environment for all. As students receive their results and embark on the next chapter of their academic journeys, the CISCE remains dedicated to facilitating a fair and constructive learning experience for every learner under its purview.
