Crime rates in India have been a concern, with various forms of violence prevalent. According to official statistics, crimes against women, especially rape cases, have been distressingly high. In recent years, there has been increased reporting and awareness, leading to a better understanding of the issue. However, the numbers remain alarming. For instance, in 2020, over 32,000 rape cases were reported across the country. These numbers reflect not only the prevalence of sexual violence but also the need for continuous efforts in law enforcement, education, and societal change to address the root causes and ensure the safety of all citizens.
