Aimed at reforming the state's unaided educational sector, the Kerala government has decided to take stringent action against institutions failing to comply with established norms. The initiative, driven by growing concerns over excessive fees, inadequate infrastructure, and the commercialization of education, seeks to protect students' interests and ensure quality learning environments.

The Directorate of Education (DoE) has unveiled guidelines for ten bagless days in government and private schools, specifically targeting students in classes six to eight. This initiative is part of a broader effort to make learning more experiential, enjoyable, and less stressful, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
