A growing crisis in Indian schools is raising alarm bells as students read significantly fewer books in English classes, sparking concerns among educators about the long-term impact on language skills, empathy, and cultural awareness.

The Government of India has earmarked ₹1,300 crores for the National Research Foundation (NRF) as part of the Budget 2024-25. A recent tweet by the Ministry of Education of India mentioned that substantial funding is set to invigorate the country's research and innovation sectors, positioning India to enhance its global research standing significantly.

To enhance global research collaboration, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, have launched a joint PhD programme. This initiative, designed to bridge research efforts between India and Australia, opens doors for aspiring scholars to work on pioneering projects under the guidance of expert faculty from both institutions.

The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has initiated the registration process for Phase II of TS LAWCET 2024 counselling. This phase provides another opportunity for students seeking admission to 3-year- and 5-year LLB programs in various law colleges across Telangana. Those who missed out or were not allotted seats in the first phase can now secure admission through this round.
