In a remarkable achievement that has captured the nation’s attention, sixteen-year-old Kaamya Karthikeyan has successfully summited Mount Everest, becoming the youngest Indian mountaineer to conquer the world’s highest peak from the Nepal side. Kaamya, a Class XII student at Navy Children School in Mumbai and the daughter of a naval officer, ascended the formidable 8,849-metre peak on May 20, alongside her father, Commander S Karthikeyan.
