The victim, identified as Bhukya Devaki, aged 23, hailing from Mangayyabanjar village in Chandrugonda mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem district, was the daughter of Srinu and Padma, who worked as agricultural laborers. Devaki was a student at Singareni Mahila College in Kottagudem and had recently completed her degree. Despite her dreams of furthering her education, her mother, citing health concerns, persuaded her to enter into marriage.
