Delhi CM Rekha Gupta on Monday remarked that education is not just the way to scholarly success but is also the source for the formation of a powerful and responsible nation, a release said.

Gupta participated in the "Sankalp se Siddhi -- Naya Satra, Nayi Urja" programme conducted by the DAV College Managing Committee.

Addressing the function, she added that the organisation not only fosters knowledge but also social sensitivity and responsibility among students, it reported.

She stressed that education is not only a means to academic achievement but a basis for creating a strong and responsible nation.

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Looks Back On The Institution's Heritage

Looking back on the legacy of the institution, the chief minister termed the 140-year-old DAV tradition as a 'laboratory of personality development.'

She stated that based on the Vedic principles of Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati, DAV provides a combination of modern education and ancient wisdom that develop character as well as intellect.

Emphasizing its extensive presence, Gupta added that DAV runs more than 1,000 schools in 23 states. The organisation transcends mere academic education by inculcating values, patriotism, and overall development, molding students into responsible citizens.

She also mentioned the achievements of renowned DAV alumni such as Lala Lajpat Rai, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni, adding their achievements inspire the country even today, the statement added.

Connecting the institution's activity to the country's vision, Gupta added, "In Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Viksit Bharat 2047,' institutions like DAV are key to charting the nation's future."

Highlighting Delhi's emphasis on education, the Chief Minister added that 19.29 per cent of the budget this year has been assigned to the sector, reiterating the government's emphasis on integrated learning.

She also called on the audience to commit their support to education that not only illuminates individual lives but also works towards the country's development and international reputation.
