In a tragic turn of events, a 22-year-old MTech student from India lost his life in Australia after being fatally stabbed during a dispute between Indian students over a rent issue.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday around 9 pm local time in Melbourne, has sent shockwaves through the Indian community abroad.
According to details provided by the victim's uncle, Yashvir, the victim, Navjeet Sandhu, was attacked with a knife by another student when he attempted to intervene and defuse the escalating conflict between his fellow Indian peers.
Yashvir recounted the chilling sequence of events, stating that Navjeet was accompanying a friend to collect belongings from a house. Upon hearing commotion and seeing a scuffle break out among the students, Navjeet courageously stepped in to prevent further violence.
