Concern has arisen over the disappearance of Rupesh Chandra Chintakindi, a graduate student from Telangana pursuing his studies in the United States. Last seen on May 2 in Chicago, his family has reached out for help in finding him.

The Consulate General of India in Chicago has voiced deep concern about Chintakindi's disappearance and is collaborating with local authorities and the Indian community to locate him, as stated in a post on X.

Chintakindi, enrolled at Concordia University in Wisconsin City since December 2023, has been missing for a week, prompting a citywide search and urging residents for any leads, according to reports from IANS.

Originally from Warangal district, Chintakindi's family is seeking assistance from the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian embassy in the US. They last heard from him on May 2, when he mentioned being occupied with work. Concerns grew when subsequent attempts to reach him failed as he remained offline.

According to his family, Chintakindi's roommates revealed that he left their residence on April 30, stating he was meeting someone from Texas who had come to see him. He assured them of his return within two days, but he never came back.

At the family's request, his roommates filed a complaint with the Chicago police. Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has written to Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar, seeking aid in locating the missing student on behalf of Chintakindi's relatives.
