The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the proposal to establish a first-of-its-kind AI-integrated campus of Chandigarh University in Unnao. This significant development was confirmed after Yogendra Upadhyaya, Uttar Pradesh’s Cabinet Minister for Higher Education, handed over the authorization letter to university officials on September 19.
The futuristic campus will be located in Parsandan village, Hasanganj tehsil, on the Lucknow-Kanpur highway. Spread over 63.53 acres, the campus will be the first in India to fully integrate artificial intelligence into its educational framework. Academic operations are expected to commence in the 2025-26 session, with 45 courses planned across five major streams: Engineering, Business Management, Computer Science, Health, and Liberal Arts.
Jai Inder Singh Sandhu, Director of Chandigarh University, stated that this new campus would offer 14 graduate and post-graduate business management courses, including Business Administration, Applied Finance, Digital Marketing, and Business Analytics. The health stream will feature six courses, such as Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, and Forensic Science. Additionally, two programs in Biotechnology and Data Science will be offered under Basic and Applied Science.
The Liberal Arts department will introduce seven courses, covering areas like psychology, law, journalism, and mass communication, alongside education-focused programs. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor of Chandigarh University, highlighted that the AI-integrated campus would harness the potential of artificial intelligence to foster innovation and holistic learning, ensuring students gain cutting-edge skills.
The establishment of this campus in Unnao, part of the State Capital Region (ACR), is expected to enhance connectivity for students in Uttar Pradesh to high-quality education, contributing to the region’s academic landscape.
