The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-D) has unveiled a groundbreaking certificate program in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) Design. This innovative initiative significantly departs from the traditional IIT admission process, which typically requires clearing the JEE or GATE exams.

The six-month program is meticulously designed for engineering graduates and diploma holders specializing in mechanical, electrical, automotive, or related fields. Commencing September 29, the curriculum aligns with the government's FAME India scheme, ensuring industry relevance. Participants will benefit from live interactions with esteemed IIT-D faculty, gaining invaluable insights from academic experts.

A capstone project will provide practical experience, enabling participants to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges. Additionally, an optional campus immersion at IIT-D's Centre for Automotive Research and Tribology offers a unique opportunity to explore state-of-the-art facilities and engage in cutting-edge research.

Successful completion of the program, requiring a minimum grade of 50% and consistent attendance, will be rewarded with a certificate from IIT-D's Continuing Education Program. The program fee is set at Rs. 1,10,000 plus GST.

This new pathway to IIT-D is a timely response to the burgeoning electric vehicle industry's demand for skilled professionals. IIT-D empowers engineers to contribute to India's transition towards sustainable mobility by offering a specialised program.
