Aimed at transforming the country's education system, the Indian government has revealed plans to shift the focus from exam-centric coaching to a more holistic approach to learning. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan shared the government's vision to create an education system that nurtures all-round development and prepares students for life beyond academic tests.

The government has introduced several initiatives to realize this vision. One such initiative is the National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST), aimed at enhancing teachers' personal and professional growth. This is complemented by the National Mission for Mentoring (NMM), which will offer digital mentoring sessions to help educators refine their skills and methodologies.

Another key aspect of the government’s overhaul is the promotion of early childhood care and education. To support this, the government is developing 52 primers in various Indian languages to ensure greater accessibility and inclusivity. Additionally, PM-eVidya, a new digital education platform, has been launched, offering multi-mode access to quality educational content for students across the nation.

The government is also focusing on upgrading District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs), aiming to enhance teacher training and improve the overall education infrastructure at the grassroots level.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized that the government's commitment to reshaping the education system lies in prioritizing holistic development. By moving away from excessive reliance on coaching, the new initiatives are designed to offer students a more balanced and enriching educational experience that fosters success in every aspect of their lives.
