Jitendra Singh stated that the common fellowship portal (fellowships.gov.in) aims to simplify and expedite the application process, thus saving time and effort for students and startups.

Minister of Science and Technology Jitendra Singh introduced a website on Tuesday where students can access information and apply for doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships offered by different government departments.

Singh stated that the common fellowship portal (fellowships.gov.in) aims to simplify and expedite the application process, thus saving time and effort for students and startups. Jitendra Singh asserted, "This portal will help all applicants by reducing their time and energy by getting full information and submission of applications at a single place by the click of a mouse," as quoted by Free Press Journal.

He mentioned that applicants can create a profile on the portal, which can be used to automatically fill out different application forms.

The minister highlighted that departments under the Ministry of Science and Technology, such as the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Biotechnology, and Council Of Scientific and Industrial Research, have collaborated to facilitate the submission of application forms. Additionally, application forms for other departments, like the Indian Council of Medical Research, the University Grants Commission, and the All India Council for Technical Education, will soon be accessible on the portal.

Singh emphasized that the portal includes an 'Eligibility Calculator,' allowing applicants to determine their eligibility for various fellowship schemes by providing specific details.
