On Friday, the Samastipur district administration handed over two headmasters and a mediator to the police for their suspected involvement in fraudulent teacher recruitment through the Teacher Recruitment Exams (TRE-1 and TRE-2). This action followed an inquiry sparked by allegations of irregularities in the hiring of educators.
According to Rajesh Kumar Singh, Additional District Magistrate (Disaster Management), a special investigation team was set up to investigate the claims, summoning multiple school principals and educators for interrogation. Dilip Ram, the headmaster of Purushottampur Primary School in the Bibhutipur block, was questioned during this process. Discrepancies in his responses led officials to delve deeper into the matter.
Following a more detailed interrogation, a middleman named Parvez was also detained. Ram is alleged to have worked with Parvez to orchestrate illegal recruitments. Additionally, Avinash Kumar Tandon, the headmaster of Navtolia Primary School, was apprehended for reportedly assisting Ram in these corrupt hiring practices.
The ADM mentioned that while Ram initially attempted to mislead the investigation, further probing revealed Parvez’s key role in securing the appointment of a teacher, Nikhat Parveen, through fraudulent methods. All three suspects remain in police custody as the investigation continues.
