In a recent interaction with National Teachers' Award recipients, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the government's commitment to recognizing educators who employ innovative teaching methods.

Addressing the awardees, Modi urged them to play a crucial role in shaping a 'Viksit Bharat' by fostering creative and engaging student learning environments.

The Prime Minister suggested that teachers could involve students in selecting and researching India's top 100 tourist destinations as part of their educational curriculum, which would broaden students' understanding of the country's cultural and geographical diversity. This initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes experiential learning.

Modi also highlighted the importance of learning in one's mother tongue, advocating for incorporating local folklore into the curriculum to enhance multilingual education and cultural appreciation. He encouraged teachers to take students on educational tours to nearby universities and sporting events, noting that such experiences could inspire them to pursue their aspirations.

A total of 82 teachers from various parts of India were honoured with the National Teachers' Awards, selected through a rigorous process by the Department of School Education and Literacy, the Department of Higher Education, and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Modi's address reflected his vision for an education system that imparts knowledge and nurtures a holistic understanding of India's rich cultural heritage.
