IILM University students delivered an impressive performance at the Galgotias University Sports Fest 2026 held from 26 to 28 April, bringing home top positions in pickleball and chess.

The university celebrated the achievements of students who represented the institution across multiple competitions during the fest, highlighting the growing importance of sports participation alongside academics in higher education.

Among the standout performers was Rukh Acharya, a BBA student, who secured the championship title in Pickleball Singles. Adding to the success, Anushka Tyagi from B.Tech Computer Science Engineering also emerged as Champion in the Pickleball Singles category.

The university also recorded another podium finish in pickleball through Shreyansh Jain, a B.Tech CSE student, who won the bronze medal and secured third place in the singles category.

In chess, Vishesh Maurya from B.Tech CSE achieved second position, adding another major accomplishment to the university’s overall performance at the event.

The achievements reflect the university’s continued focus on encouraging students to participate in extracurricular and competitive activities alongside academics. Inter-university sports events such as the Galgotias University Sports Fest have increasingly become important platforms for students to showcase talent, teamwork, discipline, and competitive spirit.

With sports like pickleball rapidly gaining popularity among young players and educational institutions across India, student participation in emerging sports categories has also seen significant growth in recent years.

In a world where innovation is the new currency, IGNITE 2026 is positioning itself as a powerful launchpad to young minds who are ready to think beyond textbooks. This 6-week online course is designed to help students in Grades 8-12 to develop an entrepreneurial mindset early- transforming curious learners into confident, start-up ready thinkers.

AIC-RNTU has come up with “Inspiring Gen-Next in Innovation, Thinking & Entrepreneurship,” aka IGNITE, an online course. It is a guided, mentor experience in which students learn directly through the founders of startups and industry mentors, gaining real world exposure on how ideas become businesses. The program has a total of 12 live, interactive sessions, all of 2-hour duration, to ensure depth, engagement, and learning.

What IGNITE is special about is that it is application oriented, and not theory oriented. Learners are not only taught concepts, they are also taught to think like an entrepreneur, identify a problem, develop a solution, and learn the basics of starting a business. The program is designed in a way that it empowers confidence, creativity and strategic decision-making skills at a tender age.

The response to the IGNITE has been overwhelming and the early-bird registrations are now closed. The program was earlier much affordable with a reduced price of 3,999 (originally 5,999), which makes it a feasible opportunity to students interested in acquiring a competitive advantage in the modern world driven by innovations.

With India steadily emerging as a global startup hub, such programs as IGNITE are increasingly becoming instrumental in equipping the next generation of not only to come and take part in the future, but also to build it.

APG Shimla University will host a Mega Health Checkup Camp together with a Blood Donation Camp on May 5, 2026, to promote preventive healthcare and community well-being in collaboration with Atulaya Healthcare. 

Mega Health Checkup Camp with Advanced Testing Package

The university and Atulaya Healthcare will offer an extensive health screening service which includes a full-body advanced package at a significantly subsidised price. 

The camp will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the university’s reception area. The package will now cost ₹1,299 after its original price of ₹4,760 to make it available to all students and local residents.

The health package includes over 60 diagnostic tests, covering:

• Complete Blood Count and blood sugar levels test
• Thyroid and lipid profile tests
• Liver and kidney function tests
• Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D3 levels
• Calcium, phosphorus, and HbA1C tests

Participants must arrive at the testing site without eating anything to achieve precise results. The program targets young adults in order to create awareness about preventive healthcare and support early detection methods. 

Blood Donation Camp to Support Life-Saving Efforts

The university will conduct a Blood Donation Camp at Block 7 starting from 11:00 AM after the health camp in partnership with Kamla Nehru Hospital Shimla. 

The School of Pharmacy and Allied & Healthcare Sciences organized the camp to encourage people to donate blood while building up the local medical system. University officials explained that one blood donation can save several lives while urging students and residents to take part in the event.

APG Shimla University’s health initiative will include medical assessments, educational programs, and community participation. KLE Law College's Moot Court team brought home top honors from LEX ULTIMA – 28th National Law Fest 2026, which Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Law College organized in Mangaluru. The event which took place from April 24 to April 26, 2023, allowed KLE students to show their skills when competing in various events.

Dev S. Panchariya and K. Sachindra produced an outstanding performance which led them to win the Negotiation Competition. Dev won the Bail Petition Draft Award because of his exceptional drafting abilities.

Neelesh Nandan achieved strong Runner-up results at the Public Interest Litigation competition through his excellent research and legal advocacy abilities.
