Recently, JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU) honoured the outstanding contributions of Kiran Bir Sethi, a renowned designer, educator and social entrepreneur by giving her the highly-regarded 2025 Design Guru Award on November 9th.

This special award is in honour of the birth anniversary of the great thinker in education M.P. Ranjan and the great contributions Kiran Bir Sethi made in changing the way children are taught. She has inspired millions of people throughout 25 years of leading her own school of Riverside School that aims to make the learning meaningful, creative and empowering.

Kiran Bir Sethi is known for her “I Can” approach and the FIDS (Feel-Imagine-Do-Share) model. These concepts invite children and teachers to become active change agents within their own communities and beyond. Her efforts have influenced the schools in India as well as in the world.

Accepting the award at JKLU, Kiran said, “I am deeply touched to receive the Design Guru Award, especially since it celebrates the incredible legacy of M.P. Ranjan, who inspired so many of us. I thank the Director of the Institute of Design, A Balasubramaniam, and JK Lakshmipat University for this wonderful honor.”

Aditi Ranjan, wife of M.P. Ranjan, a renowned textile designer and researcher, also attended the award ceremony as a long-time tradition of innovation in design education.

Along with this recognition, the two-day event included an inspiring talk by Geet Sethi, the nine-time world champion in cue sports like billiards and snooker, adding excitement to the celebrations.

The Design Guru Day of JKLU, besides being a celebration of design excellence, stood and stands as a way to challenge students and professionals to harness creativity for positive social impact.

Karnavati University proudly announced the inauguration of its upgraded Drishya Media Lab 2.0 at the Unitedworld School of Liberal Arts & Mass Communication (USLM). The event was attended by a highly-respected guest, Prof. Avinash Singh, the former Vice Chancellor and the former COO of UTM Shillong and advisor to UPES Dehradun, who attended the event.

The Drishya Media Lab 2.0 has the latest technology; it has advanced camera system, green screens, microphones, sound system and a mini newsroom simulator to ensure that the environment is interactive and practical to learn in. This plant is aimed at equipping the students with practical skills in the field of media and mass communication to ensure that the gap between theory and practice is bridged.

USLM, a constituent of Karnavati University, is renowned for its diverse programs in liberal arts and mass communication, offering students unparalleled opportunities across creative and media disciplines. The university official said that with Drishya Media Lab 2.0, the future media students will be nurtured and will have access to the latest tools and be trained in the real-world environment. Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU), Udaipur, recently hosted its much-anticipated 12th Convocation along with the SPSU Project Exhibition 2025, a brilliant showcase of student innovation and practical learning. As part of the RISE 2025 festival aimed at redesigning school education by making it creative, artistic, and innovative, an interesting panel speech on Mental Resilience for Creativity and Innovation will be conducted on November 8 at the Alliance Francoise de Delhi.

Eminent professionals such as Santanu Bose, Anju Soni, Dr. Shikha Jain, Ananda Moy Banerji, Jayaprabha Menon and Vaishali Gupta will contribute their experience and knowledge on how mental resilience can be used as a foundation to maintain creativity and promote innovation in a dynamic and challenging environment.
