Centurion University, Paralakhemundi, has added another feather to its cap as its Faculty Cricket Team emerged as the champions of the Inter-University Faculty Cricket Tournament hosted by AITAM, Tekkali.

The team won the championship title in the grand finale by defeating GMR Institute of Technology (GMRIT), Rajam. Sixteen faculty teams participated in the tournament and it was a great success for the university.

Demonstrating exceptional teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the competition, the Centurion University faculty team delivered an impressive performance to bring home the championship trophy.

The award is a testament to the University's efforts to promote sportsmanship and teamwork among its staff. The university congratulated the whole team for their excellent performance and for their pride in the university.

This triumph is a testament to the dedication and teamwork of Centurion University's faculty members, both on and off the field, and serves as a source of pride for the institution.

ORIENT 2026, the four-day Orientation for New Students programme of JECRC University, is scheduled for 29 July to 1 August 2026 and will be attended by industry experts, accomplished professionals, alumni and speakers of repute to welcome the freshers.

The programme is designed to introduce thousands of new students to the university ecosystem while offering insights into leadership, entrepreneurship, finance, technology, sports and personal development.

During ORIENT 26, the students will meet with National Award winning actor Vikrant Massey, Olympian and World No.1 Badminton Player Saina Nehwal, Finance Educator and Author Sarthak Ahuja, Former IAS Officer and Leadership Expert Vivek Atray, Finance Educator Jayant Mundra, Entrepreneur and Investor Arjun Vaidya, AI Strategist Nivedan Rathi, and Maharani Sahiba Nivritti Kumari Ji of Mewar, Udaipur.

The sessions will cover various themes such as leadership, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, career development, culture and values designed to equip students for their academic and professional future, the university said.

As the students enter into a new phase of their academic journey, JECRC University has set the tone with ORIENT 2026, which promises to be an enriching introduction to the university through the visit with role models and practical experiences.

JD Institute of Fashion Technology is set to organise an International Masterclass for its Fashion Design students on 17 July 2026 as a prelude to its upcoming iFestival, bringing global fashion and cultural perspectives directly to the virtual classroom.

This is a live online session between 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM (IST) with Ms. Shoshana Levy Downie, a Panamanian fashion designer, researcher, author and cultural advocate, known for her lifelong commitment to the preservation and promotion of the traditional Panamanian dress, La Pollera.

The masterclass titled ‘Art in Threads – The Pollera’,  not only teaches students about the cultural significance of Panama's iconic national dress, but also provides insight into the connection between fashion, heritage and stories.

The session will also allow students to gain insight into Shoshana Levy Downie's creative process and professional experiences, and into the potential of traditional craftsmanship in the creation of contemporary fashion, the institute said.

The masterclass is one of the pre-iFestival programs organised by the institute to give Fashion Design students an international experience and meet internationally known experts.

MIT India has announced the MIT India National Hackathon 2026, a national-level innovation competition that aims to encourage students to solve real-world industry challenges through technology-driven and product-focused solutions. The hackathon will bring together student innovators from across the country and provide opportunities for mentorship, industry exposure and national-level recognition.

The competition will be conducted in two stages, with the qualifying round scheduled during IRS 2026 in Pune on August 21–22, 2026, followed by the National Grand Finale at IES 2026 in New Delhi on October 24, 2026.

MIT India National Hackathon 2026 to Be Held in Two Phases

The hackathon will begin with the qualifier round at IRS 2026, Pune, where participating teams will present their ideas and working solutions before a panel of experts.

The top 30 teams from the qualifier will advance to the National Grand Finale, which will be organised during IES 2026 in New Delhi.

According to the organisers, the platform is designed to encourage students to transform innovative ideas into practical products while addressing real industry problems.

₹25 Lakh Prize Pool Announced

The organisers have announced a ₹25 lakh prize pool for the competition.

This includes ₹7 lakh in cash prizes, while finalists will also receive several technology and industry benefits aimed at supporting innovation and product development.

Finalists to Receive AWS Benefits and Cloud Credits

Students qualifying for the National Grand Finale will receive AWS Certification Vouchers worth ₹10,000 per participant.

Each finalist team will also receive cloud credits worth up to ₹20,000 to support the development and testing of their solutions.

These benefits are intended to help participants strengthen their technical skills while building scalable technology solutions.

Industry Mentorship and Expert Evaluation

Beyond prizes, the MIT India National Hackathon 2026 will offer participants opportunities to interact with industry professionals and innovation leaders.

The organisers said finalist teams will receive industry mentorship, gain national visibility, and present their projects before a panel of 48 industry experts during the evaluation process.

The hackathon aims to create an ecosystem where students can develop practical products while receiving feedback from experienced professionals.

Registrations for the MIT India National Hackathon 2026 will open on July 10, 2026. Students interested in innovation, technology, product development and solving industry challenges can register once the application process begins.

The organisers said the hackathon is designed to provide a national platform where ideas can be developed into practical solutions while helping students gain exposure to industry expectations and innovation-driven learning.

Rai University's Rai School of Management Studies (RSMS),  is set to host a three-day Online National Level Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Structural Equation Modelling and Data Analysis" from August 10 to 12, 2026. The programme is designed for faculty members, researchers, doctoral scholars and academic professionals seeking to strengthen their research and data analysis skills.

The online FDP will be conducted daily from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM (IST) and will focus on advanced quantitative research methods and analytical tools used in academic research.

On 11th of July 2026, Alliance University organized Tulu Yakshagana Workshop and Demonstration Programme at Kalataranga, which brought together students, artists, researchers and cultural enthusiasts to explore and appreciate the rich heritage of Tulu Yakshagana and Indian performing arts.

The programme presented to the participants an opportunity to know about the traditional folk art through an interactive theatre and live demonstration, underlining cultural and artistic values.

The workshop was titled as “Legacy of Tulu Yakshagana”

The workshop was an introduction to the Tulu Yakshagana traditions, wherein they learnt about the tales, music, costumes and performance style of Tulu Yakshagana, which has been handed down from generation to generation.

The live performance enabled the audience to gain a deeper understanding of the distinctive elements of the traditional folk theatre and its contribution to the preservation of the cultural heritage of the region.

A Cultural Highlight was held for the Indian cultural heritage

The organisers said the programme was organised to create awareness about the Tulu heritage and to create an interest in the performing arts of India. The workshop provided an opportunity for the participants to experience the art form and to learn about its history and culture.

The event saw the involvement of students, artists, researchers and culture lovers who had a glimpse of the cultural values and art forms of Tulu Yakshagana.
