The School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Auro University on the World Press Freedom Day 2026 is hosting a 2-day inter-university event titled, "Echoes of Freedom 2.0". This free event on the 24-25 April 2026 is open to school and college students in Surat (Class 10-12 and above), and the theme of it is: “Shaping the Future at Peace”. The Auro University event encourages journalism, creativity and media literacy with a touch of inspiration and fun. 

The event is hosted within the campus of the Auro University in Surat and it will include four exciting competitions that will encourage discussion on press freedom and responsible journalism in the digital age. To visually engage in the process of peace-building through media, students are free to engage in a Digital Poster Making Competition, discuss the ethics and challenges of presses and the world in a Debate Competition, and create a story through the prism of journalism in a Creative Writing Competition, or to gain some practical experience in news-making in real-time in a Newsroom Simulation.

Echoes of Freedom 2.0 is open to all school, junior college and university students in Surat with free registration and e-certificates to all its participants. The event provides the young voices with the platform to talk about how media can build peaceful societies as well as develop skills in creating digital contents, critical thinking and newsroom dynamics, all of which are necessary skills of future journalists and media professionals.

This is an annual event held by the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the Auron University in order to commemorate the World Press Freedom Day that is celebrated across the world on the 3rd of May. Through this early involvement of the students, the university hopes to create a generation of students who believe in ethical journalism, media responsibility, and communication to bring about social peace.

To guide students on career choices, Amity University Noida is hosting a Career Planning Session on 17 April 2026, where the students will receive expert guidance and interactive mentoring to help them navigate career choices.

The event will be held between 10:30 AM and 3.30 PM at the J-2 Auditorium on the Amity Noida campus and will provide the students with direct contact with the academic mentors. Students will be introduced to various career choices and they will be taught how to make wise choices when it comes to their careers.

The session will help in clarifying academic opportunities, industry trends, and skills needed by the industry, which are expected to be common in career selection. Students will be able to get a realistic guidance on how to match their interests and skills with possible career opportunities within industries.

The half-day programme provides a specific atmosphere of a one-on-one conversation with the mentors specialising in career counselling and academic orientation. This format enables the students to be given personalised recommendations based on their Class 12 streams, graduation plans and long term objectives.

CU has announced CU Fest 2026, a two-day cultural festival scheduled to be held on 2–3 April 2026 on campus. The fest is organised by the Department of Arts and Cultural Affairs which is designed to blend the soothness of music, rhythm of dance and emotional waves of theater, art and more. The participating students are all set up to showcase their talent and creativity.

CU Fest 2026 will also provide a high-energy campus experience through live performances, competitive and non-competitive events, and  showcases across multiple cultural categories. The emphasis is on creating a platform that allows students to engage, perform, collaborate and have unforgettable moments with each other.

The event line-up is expected to feature solo performances in music, dance and theater, along with creative activities in fine arts and other associated creative areas. Students from different programmes and clubs will get the opportunity to take the stage, experiment with new ideas and engage with audiences in an environment designed around youth culture and campus life.

This CU Fest is positioned as the most important event in the cultural life of the university this year. On 4 April, at 7 PM, Vivekananda Global University (VGU), Jaipur, is hosting a special campus experience  that encompasses an evening of music, meditation and pure energy with Radhika Das. Assam Down Town University (ADTU) is ready to host the Inter University/College Volleyball Tournament 2026, a high-energy, high-speed tournament of university and college volleyball teams in the region. The event will include Men and Women divisions, which will be an exciting show of prowess, tact and teamwork.

The event will take place between 30th and 31st March, 2026 at the Sports Arena, Assam Down Town University, Panikhaiti, Guwahati, Assam. The university has also opened up to volleyball teams of universities and colleges, welcoming players to come with their spikes, blocks, and teamwork to the court.

The registration fee per participating team is Rs1000 and the last day to register is 28th March, 2026. No late entries will be considered and therefore teams are advised to finalise their line ups and complete the process in good time.

Uttaranchal University celebrated a historic day of institutional development and cultural celebration on the 24th of March 2026, with the Honourable Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd.), as the Chief Guest. The event united the whole university fraternity to observe three historic milestones that strengthened both infrastructure and cultural spirit.

Three Major Milestones Revealed.

The festivities began with the opening of a special Post Office Extension Counter on campus. This new facility promised greater convenience to students, faculty, and staff, and postal services streamlining right on the university grounds, and this would help in the day-to-day academic and personal needs.

During a special highlight, the Governor issued a special MyStamp and Special Cover, which is a commemoration of the contributions made by Uttaranchal University to education and development of the region.
