The Telangana government has opened applications for overseas scholarships aimed at students from scheduled castes within the state. To be eligible, applicants must have a family income below 5 lakhs per annum and meet certain criteria. Interested candidates can apply through the official website, telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in, with the deadline set for March 31st.
This scholarship opportunity is specifically for students who have gained acceptance into educational institutions in countries including the USA, Canada, Germany, France, the UK, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. The scholarship covers expenses up to Rs 20 lakhs or the amount specified in the admission letter, whichever is lower, along with one-way economy airfare and visa fees. Only one student per family is eligible for this scholarship.
Applicants must adhere to certain eligibility requirements, including being under 35 years old. They should have attained a minimum of 60% in their undergraduate studies and achieved specified scores in tests such as GRE (280 marks), GMAT (550 marks), TOEFL (60 marks), and IELTS (6 grade).
Students must also have secured at least 60% marks or equivalent grades in foundation degree programs or postgraduate courses related to various fields like engineering, management, sciences, agriculture sciences, medicine, social sciences, and humanities. However, some flexibility in the minimum marks requirement is allowed for candidates who achieve satisfactory scores in eligibility tests such as GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, and IELTS.
Additionally, candidates must have unconditional admission to universities and institutions in eligible countries, especially if the number of registrations does not meet expectations within the allocated budget.
